The role balances risk management with customer experience by ensuring credit applications are assessed accurately, efficiently and consistently. It contributes to portfolio quality, operational effectiveness and business growth through sound underwriting judgement, risk assessment and continuous process improvement.
The role also supports the evolution of credit operations by identifying opportunities to improve turnaround times, strengthen controls, support product launches and contribute to operational initiatives that enhance service delivery and decision-making effectiveness. • Escalate complex or higher-risk cases appropriately to ensure sound risk governance and decision integrity.

• Identify, assess and mitigate credit and fraud risks that may affect portfolio quality or customer outcomes.
• Apply regulatory requirements and internal risk controls to ensure lending decisions remain compliant and defensible.

• Contribute to operational initiatives that enhance service quality, productivity and customer experience.
• Support the implementation of new products, policy changes and process enhancements to ensure operational readiness.
• Use operational insights and performance trends to recommend improvements in credit assessment and workflow management.
Business Support & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Provide underwriting expertise that supports business growth initiatives, marketing campaigns and new product introductions.
• Resolve credit-related queries and exceptions by collaborating with relevant stakeholders to achieve balanced customer and risk outcomes.
• Contribute operational insights to projects and initiatives that improve the effectiveness of the end-to-end lending process.
Governance, Compliance & Controls
• Ensure credit decisions and operational activities comply with regulatory requirements, Bank policies and internal control standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation and audit readiness to support transparency and regulatory compliance.
• Apply anti-money laundering and financial crime prevention requirements, escalating suspicious activities where appropriate.
• Support governance activities that strengthen underwriting consistency, policy adherence and operational risk management.
