SDE III - Backend

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality software systems.
• Own technical architecture and drive engineering decisions from design through production.
• Build reusable components and establish engineering standards from scratch.
• Use AI-assisted coding tools to improve development efficiency without compromising code quality.
• Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Mentor engineers and promote strong coding, testing, and review practices.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and continuously improve system reliability and scalability.

Requirements:

• Experience: 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• System Design: Proven experience designing and building scalable software systems and architecture from scratch, preferably for B2C products.
• Programming: Strong proficiency in Java or Python; Java preferred.
• Code Quality: Expertise in writing clean, maintainable, testable, and production-grade code, including code reviews, testing, and engineering best practices.
• AI-Assisted Development: Practical exposure to LLM-powered coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, or equivalent.
• Engineering Fundamentals: Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, API design, and backend engineering.
• Scalability: Experience building reliable, high-performance applications and solving complex engineering challenges.
• Education: Graduate from a Tier-1 engineering institution, preferably IIT, IISc, BITS, IIIT, or a leading NIT.

Good-to-Have Requirements:

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with product managers, designers, business stakeholders, and other non-engineering teams.
• Mentorship: Experience mentoring junior engineers, conducting code reviews, and improving team engineering standards.
• Product Understanding: Strong product thinking and understanding of how engineering decisions impact customer experience.
• Business Acumen: Ability to align technical solutions with business objectives and product priorities.
• B2C Experience: Experience building and scaling consumer-facing applications with significant user traffic.
